📍 Note: Some top universities like Lomonosov Moscow State University and MGIMO are not part of this round.
🗣 Language & Course Flexibility
👉 Many programs — especially medicine and other professional courses — are offered in English.
👉 This means no mandatory Russian language skills at the time of admission.
If you do want to learn Russian, there’s an optional one-year language preparatory course before your degree starts.
📑 How Selection Works (No Entrance Tests!)
Rather than a traditional exam, candidates are evaluated on:
✔ Their previous academic performance
✔ A portfolio that can include:
- Research papers
- Recommendation letters
- Certificates, awards or Olympiad results
…and other documents that show your achievements.
You can list up to six preferred universities, and final placement depends on available seats and evaluation by the Russian institutions.
🕑 Application Timeline
The selection process runs in two main stages:
- Document verification & shortlisting — until January 15
- Allocation & visa documentation — handled by Russia’s Ministry of Science and Higher Education with participating universities.
