Winter Vacation for Classes 1 to Middle Likely From First Week of December: Sakina Itoo
Srinagar, Nov 19: Minister Sakina Itoo on Wednesday said that the winter vacation for students from Class 1 up to the middle grades is likely to begin in the first week of December, considering the ongoing drop in temperatures.
Speaking to reporters, the minister told Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that parents have been repeatedly requesting an early winter break announcement. “The winter season becomes difficult for younger children,” she said.
Itoo added that a meeting regarding the winter vacation schedule has already been held. “We have tentatively decided that the lower classes—from Class 1 up to the middle grade—will probably observe the vacation from the first week of December,” she said.
Addressing the textbook availability issue, the minister stated that the matter has been largely streamlined. “Directions have been issued to ensure there is no shortage of books or uniforms,” she noted.
The minister further said that strict instructions have been passed to the JKBOSE Secretary, Chairman, Education Secretary, and other officials to take tough action against private schools violating government norms.
“Wherever we receive a complaint against any private school regarding books or fees, we will definitely take strict action,” she asserted.
