UGC NET 2024: NTA Releases New Schedule – Check the Latest Updates
UGC NET 2024: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has made an important announcement regarding the new schedule for the UGC-NET 2024 exams, which will be conducted on July 10th, 2024.
The UGC-NET 2024 is a biannual exam in India held to select assistant professors, award Junior Research Fellowships, and facilitate enrollment in PhD programs at Indian universities. The exam takes place in June and December each year. The June 18th session saw over 9 lakh candidates across 317 cities participate. However, on June 19th, the exam was abruptly canceled due to unforeseen reasons but has now been rescheduled, bringing relief to candidates.
An investigation by the CBI revealed that the UGC-NET question paper had been leaked two days before the exam, on June 15th, with prices allegedly reaching over Rs. 5 lakh per paper on the darknet. Responding to these allegations, Minister Dharmendra Pradhan acknowledged the issue, stating, “Upon confirmation that the UGC-NET question paper available on the darknet matched the original, we opted to cancel the examination. We accept responsibility and are committed to addressing the flaws in the system.”
Even a high-level committee was formed for this sake & they ensured that this examination would take place smoothly.
